Hello, Im Kara Jean
My name is Kara and Im a 27 year old photographer living in Milwaukee. Posing people, cracking awful jokes, and making people comfortable in front of the camera are my specialties because I KNOW how hard getting in front of the camera can be! Having photographed my fair share of weddings since 2018, and with my knowledge of the media side of things I feel confident I can capture images that embody the love and joy experienced during your time behind my camera.
Simply put — I love, love
Who am I?
It's important to know a little bit about who you're working with! I want to build trust with every client and want to share a few facts about myself and my life to give you an idea of who I am.
Fact #1
I started off modeling before picking up a camera and was inspired to dive deeper into the wedding industry after a few bridal publications! I became an expert at posing and wanted to help guide others into flattering angles that I had spent years learning. Honestly, growing up my favorite "game" to play was dress up and was told I'd often steal my moms camera. Guess dress up and photos translated into my adult life too!
Fact #2
I was in school at UWM studying Spanish and Early Childhood education while full time nannying when I decided not to return to school. Upon sharing photos on Instagram, I unknowingly had created a portfolio of portraits. A company was looking to hire photographers for the upcoming season reached out for an interview a few months after making the account. It felt like a sign that I was meant to continue working with my camera, and I have never felt more in the right place than I do now.
Fact #3
I went skydiving with my mom in spring of 2021 and it was the most liberating experience ever! Although slightly terrifying, I have zero regrets facing that fear head on. My favorite part is that we got to keep go-pro videos of the experience. Although my mother isn't a fan of her video with the cheesy music they put along to it, I'll always remember the experience I got to share with her.:)
Fact #4
I got my motorcycle license in 2021! I was lucky enough to take the class with my stepdad who is an avid motorcycle rider and fan of all bikes and cars. This winter he taught me how to change the exhaust pipes on my bike and I'm looking forward to utilizing my free time traveling more with it!
